School Holiday actives for the whole family to enjoy.

The Kids Big Carnival

The Kids Big Carnival is back with a fantastic line-up of entertainment these Easter school holidays.

On Friday 10th and Saturday 11th April 2015, families are welcome to enjoy unlimited family fun at Wanneroo Showgrounds for one entry fee: Kids aged 2 to 14 years are priced at $25pp and Adults (14 years and over) are priced at $10pp. The kids entry fee entities the ticket holder to all rides and entertainment throughout the day (some activities may incur extra cost).

There will be heaps of rides and attractions for ages 2 to 14; take a ride on the Dragon Wagon, go for a spin on the cup and saucer ride, see the event from the air on the Samba balloon or bounce away on the Clown Playport!

There will also be the Incredible Creatures Animal Farm, face-painting, free fairy floss and much, much more.

Arty April creative workshops

These fun interactive workshops make for ideal school holiday entertainment and will take place between Tuesday 7th and Friday 10th April 2015. This runs 10am to 12pm daily and this is a FREE event. Head down to the Claremont Quarter Kids Pod on level two of Claremont Quarter.

There are a range of creative activities to choose from and each will be held in an encouraging and friendly atmosphere.

Young child will be able to engage with imaginative play through the creation of whimsical dinosaurs, aztec umbrellas and happy sunflower boxes, while teenagers can learn about the versatility of screen-printing and how to make the most of mobile phone photography.

Perth Zoo

These Easter school holidays, you and your family can go behind the scenes at Perth Zoo and get an up-close and personal look its 1500 inhabitants.

From the 3rd to the 19th of April 2015, Perth Zoo is expanding its Eye to Eye animal encounter program, giving visitors the opportunity get closer to more animals than ever before and learn about them from the people who know them best, their dedicated zoo keepers.

There are over 17 animal encounter experiences to choose from, with opportunities to meet the African Lions, Rhinoceros, Black Cockatoos, the critically endangered Black and White Lemurs, Orang-utans, Tasmanian Devils and Giraffe.

Visitors to Perth Zoo, between 3rd and 19th of April 2015, who enter before 11:00am, will go into a draw to win an Eye to Eye encounter.

Prices start from $5 and spaces are strictly limited; visitors are encouraged to get in quick and pre-book their desired encounter

Dinosaur Fun

If you’ve got some dinosaur fans at home, then they’ll love what’s on for Easter at Cockburn Gateway.

Bring the kids down to Cockburn Gateway between 11am – 3pm from Monday 6th April through to Saturday 18th April to join in the fun at the Dinosaur Stomping Ground, set up outside Big W.

Kids can dig for fossils and find out a bit more about the dinosaur era, and the best bit is that it’s all FREE.

Scitech

These April school holidays, we’ve got a host of science fun on in the CSIRO Lab to keep holiday boredom at bay.

Scitech holiday activities cater for children aged from 4 to 14 years old, with a variety of workshops on offer to ensure there’s something for everyone. Workshops do fill up fast so make sure you book your spot quick smart! Bookings open 3 March.

 

Amazing magnets Harness the amazing force of magnetism to make objects hover, roll and spin. Create your own magnetic contraption to take home.

Catapult engineer:

Learn about forces, energy and projectile motion as you build your own miniature catapult. Then test your design as you launch marshmallows at a target.

Fizzy chemistry

Experiment with acids and bases to make some fizzing chemical reactions. Use colourful indicators to test your mixtures, then make your own bubbling lava lamp to take home.

Squishy circuits

Discover how to make electrical circuits with a difference. Test out our conductive and insulating dough to learn about electricity and make some crazy electrical gadgets.
